I decided since I missed last weeks Tuesday Tip - oops! That this weeks had to be extra good! I hope this is helpful to you because these tips have helped me so much!
Instagram is called ‘social’ media so YOU GOTTA SOCIALIZE aka ENGAGE!
I have figured out that engagement is the KEY to building relationships & connections. All of which lead to growth, conversions, and sales.
First off, what do I mean by ‘engagement’?
Liking & commenting
Following people who you resonate with
Interacting with & responding to stories
Sharing content that fits your niche
Direct messaging
Replying to likes/comments/messages
So how do you be successful with those engaging thing?
DO interact and leave GENUINE comments on posts that resonate with you
DON’T simply drop an emoji (I hate this) doing this makes you look like a bot and not an actual person & IG does not like it
DO reply to ALL comments on your posts and engage in conversation as much as you can
DON’T post then ghost (this a huge no ma’am) try to engage 15-30 minutes BEFORE you post & then continue to engage 15-30 minutes AFTER you post
DO follow and interact with like-minded people to build a relationship
DON’T just follow someone in hopes that they follow you back & never actually engage (don’t do the whole follow/unfollow things - its gross)
DO reply to all DM’s - don’t forget your requests folder
DON’T leave people hanging (I’m working on this)
DO include a CTA (call-to-action) to encourage engagement on your posts
DON’T just expect people to engage without giving them a reason too (9/10 it’s not going to happen)
Building an audience on social media takes time and you want it to be organic and authentic. When you start dedicating the time to do all of the above, I PROMISE, you’ll start to see results.
So, if you’re serious about building a loyal following and really wanting to take advantage of IG to land clients and makes sales for your business (whatever that may be), then engaging is a MUST!
Are you engaging like you should?
